Friday Night Funkin' Week Guide: Every Opponent, Every Song, Where It Gets Hard
Published · 2 min read
Story Mode in Friday Night Funkin' is eight entries: a Tutorial and seven weeks, three songs each after the first. All of them are open from the start in this build, so you can jump straight to Tankman, but the weeks are ordered by difficulty and playing them in order teaches the game. Here is what each one asks of you.
Tutorial and Week 1: Daddy Dearest
The Tutorial is one short song against Girlfriend where she sings a pattern and you copy it. Week 1 is her father, Daddy Dearest, with Bopeebo, Fresh and Dad Battle. Bopeebo and Fresh are slow enough to read every arrow; Dad Battle is the first song with runs of four notes in a row and is where most new players learn that pressing an empty lane costs health.
Week 2: Spooky Kids and Monster
Skid and Pump sing Spookeez and South, which add jump patterns between the Up and Down lanes. The third song, Monster, has a slower tempo but long sustains; hold the key until the trailing bar has fully passed the receptor.
Week 3: Pico
Pico, Philly Nice and Blammed. Pico is the first opponent whose sections are fast and short, and Blammed's second half is a wall of quick alternating notes. If you can clear Blammed on Normal you are ready for anything up to Week 6.
Week 4: Mommy Mearest
Satin Panties, High and M.I.L.F. on top of a moving limousine. M.I.L.F. is the tempo spike of the first half of the game: the final section speeds up and stacks doubles. Play it on Easy first to see the shape.
Week 5: the Christmas week
Cocoa and Eggnog are both parents at once, singing in turns, and are gentler than Week 4. Winter Horrorland brings Monster back with a darker, slower chart full of long sustains.
Week 6: Senpai
The pixel-art week. Senpai is easy, Roses is medium, Thorns is the hardest song before Week 7: fast triplets and no rest sections. The receptors and notes change to the pixel style but the timing windows are the same.
Week 7: Tankman
Ugh, Guns and Stress, the Week 7 songs added in 0.2.8. Ugh has slow spoken sections with sudden bursts; Guns is fast throughout; Stress is the longest and densest chart in the game, with a note wall in the last minute that ends most Hard attempts. Practice Mode from the pause menu is the way to learn it.
